Jakarta – The Ministry of Health, through the Center for Apparatus Competency Development (P2KA), held a Pre-Departure Briefing for Overseas Education and Training for the January 2026 period on Monday, January 12, 2026, virtually via Zoom. The briefing was provided by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Kunta Wibawa Dasa Nugraha, and was attended by the Special Staff to the Minister of Health for Governance and Bureaucracy Reform, Mr. Bambang Widiyanto, representatives of Main Unit Secretaries, heads of the participants' original work units, and 21 Civil Servants (ASN) who will be undertaking education and training abroad.

 

Of the 21 ASN participants, 8 are enrolled in education programs through scholarship schemes including LPDP, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Asian Development Bank – Japan Scholarship Program (ADB–JSP), and Australia Awards. The remaining 13 ASN are joining training programs under schemes such as the Manaaki Scholarship, Singapore Cooperation Programme (SCP), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The briefing activities began with a report by the Head of P2KA, Ms. Dwi Meilani, followed by guidance from Secretary General Kunta Wibawa Dasa Nugraha. Additionally, a presentation on post-assignment knowledge-sharing mechanisms for both education and training participants was delivered by the Head of the Non-Classical Corporate University Implementation Working Team, Dinanti Abadini.

This activity was organized as an effort to ensure that overseas competency development assignments align with the organizational mandate, produce a tangible impact on unit capacity improvement, maintain accountability, and strengthen the participants' commitment to contribute upon their return to duty.

“The Ministry of Health is investing in all of you in the form of competency development, namely formal education and international training/courses. Your departure abroad is not merely an academic journey or training/courses, but a strategic organizational step to produce leaders and experts capable of accelerating health transformation,” stated Secretary General Kunta.

Secretary General Kunta also reminded participants to focus on solutions and return with recommendations and follow-up plans. While abroad, they must maintain discipline, integrity, and the good name of the institution, while continuing to contribute through knowledge sharing and concrete actions.

Through this activity, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the assignment objectives, responsibilities during the program, and the obligation to implement their learning in their respective work environments.

It is hoped that this briefing will strengthen participant readiness in carrying out their overseas competency development assignments and encourage a transfer of knowledge that has a real impact on improving the service quality and performance of the Ministry of Health.
